- Albert went through the schools at Toledo, Ohio, graduating from Scott High School in 1916. He attended Case School of Applied Science (now Case-Western Reserve University) at Cleveland, Ohio. He worked in Cleveland and Toledo during the years 1919-21 and spent the winter of 1922-23 in Tucson, Arizona. Albert moved to North Carolina in 1923 and was on a construction job in Waterville, NC, for two years. For 35 years, Albert was with American Enka Corporation at Enka, NC, a suburb of Asheville. American Enka was a manufacturer of rayon and synthetic fibers and yarns. Albert retired in 1964 as Director of Transportation.
